Are you Positively Intelligent?

Do you have a strong inner critic? Are your thoughts more often negative than positive? Do you find your mood tends to follow your thoughts down a negative-spiralling rabbit hole? Then you might like to hear about Positive Intelligence…

Positive Intelligence is a coaching framework created by author and Business Coach Shirzad Chamine. It sits around the main theory that, alongside IQ and EQ, we all have a PQ. This Positive Quotient is the relative strength of our mind’s positive and negative impact on our thoughts, emotions and behaviours. In other words, our PQ score will be high if our mind spends a high percentage of time speaking wisely and kindly, as a friend would, rather than “sabotaging” you through negative or unhelpful thoughts.


In the Positive Intelligence framework, the friend part of our mind is given the name Sage, while the opposite part is made up of our Saboteurs, who are characterised as the Judge, Avoider, Controller, Hyper-Achiever, Hyper-Rational, Hyper-Vigilant, Pleaser, Restless, Stickler and Victim.
