As a Marketing Professional and a Life Coach, I love a good acronym. Not only does it enable you to remember important information, it also helps you convey bigger concepts in a way that is a little more digestible.
One that I’ve coined myself is ACTION.
There’s so much information out there for anyone who’s keen to establish, maintain or improve their mental and emotional wellbeing. However, it takes ACTION to make all that knowledge truly impact your life, which is why engaging a coach can play a crucial part in that journey; keeping you accountable and supporting you as you work towards your life goals.
Through active listening, a life coach is able to ask questions that bring, often unexpected, inspiration and to challenge “stuck thinking” that can lead to breakthroughs that didn’t previously seem possible. A life coach might also introduce an exercise to help an individual explore areas like limiting beliefs, values and boundaries; all of which can help our ability to live life to the full.
To use my acronym, coaching coupled with ACTION can create powerful, positive change in a person’s life. But that ACTION is going to take work. It’s likely to involve:
Awareness and education work around experiences that have impacted you mentally or emotionally*
Cognitions and emotions work to explore the impact of these experiences on your thoughts and feelings
Transforming beliefs that are holding you back into positive, empowering alternatives
Identity and values work to discover more about living the best version of you
Owning your past, present and future, including learning to accept who you are and taking responsibility for how you choose to live going forward, by looking to form…
New habits, beliefs, boundaries and plans for a happier, healthier you.
If you think you’re ready to take ACTION and would like some coaching support as you do so then please get in touch for a free and confidential 30mins session.
*As a coach, my focus is forward-looking, with a view to helping individuals make the positive change they seek. If, within coaching sessions, it becomes apparent that there is a need for deeper therapeutic work then I will signpost individuals to an appropriate professional.
